Fire Temples
A fire temple is the place of worship for Zoroastrians. In the Zoroastrian religion fire, together with clean water, are agents of ritual purity.
Pir-e-Sabz
For Iranian Zoroastrians, summer begins with the pilgrimage to Pir-e-Sabz, also called Chak-Chak. This remote site is the holiest and most visited of the Zoroastrian mountain shrines. Each year from June 14 to 18, many thousands of Zoroastrians from Iran, India and other countries flock to the temple of Pir-e Sabz.
